fauna là một thuật ngữ chuyên môn dùng để chỉ toàn bộ các loài động vật trong một khu vực địa lý, một thời kỳ lịch sử hoặc một môi trường sinh thái cụ thể. Trong tiếng Việt, từ này được dịch là "hệ động vật". Điểm quan trọng cần lưu ý là fauna không dùng để chỉ một vài con vật riêng lẻ, mà dùng để mô tả một tập hợp sinh học mang tính hệ thống và khoa học.
