この用語は、直線的な力に対応する回転方向の力を表します。固いボルトをレンチで回す感覚や、停止状態から車を前へと押し出す急激な動力の surge のような感覚を呼び起こします。直線的な力が真っ直ぐに押したり引いたりするのに対し、回転力は軸を中心に回転させたりねじったりします。
