parallel
この言葉は、対称性や同期している感覚を呼び起こします。二つの別々の存在が、決して交差したり統合したりすることなく、同じ方向に進んでいたり、同じ特性を共有していたりすることを意味します。これにより、異なる平面において整列している様子や、一貫性があるという視覚的なイメージを作り出します。
仕事や学問の場では、あるパターンを強調するための比較として頻繁に用いられます。analogous（類似した）という言葉に近いですが、parallelは特に、二つの異なる出来事や線が同時に起こっていることや、並行して進行しているという側面を強調します。
Countable when referring to a specific comparison or a geometric line (a parallel). Uncountable when referring to the general state of being aligned or synchronized.
