anarchist
This term carries a heavy duality depending on the speaker's perspective. In political science and philosophy, it describes a coherent ideology centered on voluntary cooperation and the removal of coercive hierarchies. It is often associated with a desire for extreme individual liberty and mutual aid. In common parlance, however, the word is frequently used pejoratively to describe someone who creates chaos or promotes violence. This creates a tension between the intellectual definition of a principled non-conformist and the social stereotype of a destructive rebel.
Countable when referring to an individual person who holds these beliefs or behaves this way.
