nauseous
This term is frequently used in two distinct ways: to describe the internal sensation of sickness and to describe an external stimulus that triggers that sensation. While some traditionalists argue that "nauseous" should only describe the cause (the smell) and "nauseated" should describe the feeling (the person), in modern English, "nauseous" is widely accepted and used for both meanings in almost all registers.
When describing a smell or sight, the word carries a strong connotation of visceral disgust or physical repulsion. In a medical or physical context, it describes a state of instability and discomfort, often associated with motion sickness, illness, or pregnancy.
