perceptual
Adjective
This term describes the internal process of organizing and interpreting sensory information. It focuses on the bridge between the raw physical stimulus and the mental image created by the brain. It is frequently used in psychology, neurology, and design to discuss how humans experience reality. While similar to sensory, perceptual refers to the higher-level processing of that data. Sensory describes the raw input from the eyes or ears, whereas perceptual describes the meaning the mind assigns to that input, such as recognizing a shape as a face rather than just a collection of lines.
